Kaliachak College

 

The Research Committee of Kaliachak College (Sultanganj, Malda) is an important wing of this HEI.The Composition of the Research Committee:

  2. Dr. Sachindranath Bala, Convenor, Associate Professor
  3. Dr. Sanjoy Saha, Member, Assistant Professor
  4. Dr. Somenath Halder, Assistant Professor
  5. Dr. Mujtaba Jamal, Assistant Professor

This wing was formed in the middle of the year of 2017. From that period of formation, this important wing has been performing  many significant functions under the limited scope and resources. 

 

  • In the year of 2017 (Aug. 2017) the body resolved to encourage  ‘research and publication’ among the existing faculty members, in a joint interface meeting with all teaching staffs, Principal (Chairman) with the presence of Members of Research Committee of Kaliachak College, faculties were requested to make positive efforts towards contemporary research and publication.
  • Again, in the year of 2018 (Sept. 2018) a meeting was held exclusively with the presence of Chairman (Principal) and Members of the Research Committee of Kaliachak College. In that meeting, the previous year achievements of existing teaching staff (regarding research and publication) have been evaluated and it has been decided to encourage the same further. After taking the decision, a repeated appeal has been made for encouraging ‘research and publication’ among existing faculty members. The Chairman (Principal) of the Research Committee requested all the faculty members to make more positive efforts towards multidisciplinary/ trans-disciplinary research and publication, especially in UGC recommended CARE listed journals.
  • In the year of 2019 (Aug. 2019), the Research Committee decided  in its meeting to publish a peer-reviewed cross-disciplinary journal. As per the decision, it was also proposed to build another committee for dealing with journal publication.
  • In the same year (Sept. 2019), in a meeting with the Chairman (Principal) and all the Members of Research Committee of Kaliachak College, a decision was taken regarding submission of proposal to the affiliating university, i.e. University of Gour Banga (Malda) seeking the permission of “PhD Guidance and Supervision” namely by the PhD awarded teachers having at least 2 years research experience as per UGC.guidelines.
  • The Research & Extension Committee of Kaliachak College, with the collaboration of Aligarh Muslim University, organized an International Seminar (on Social Changes in the Present Era and Beyond: Local to Global Context) on 4th March 2019. 
  • In 2020 during the Covid pandemic situation the Research Committee organized an International Webinar on the Pedagogical Inventions in the Research Scenario in Covid-19 Periods and beyond on 22nd June 2020 on the online platform of Google Meet.
  • In a meeting held in the year of 2021 it was resolved to make a reminder by  repeated and more effective appeal for asking permission for PhD Supervisorship from the affiliating university, i.e. University of Gour Banga (Malda),
