Kaliachak College Library was initiated along with the establishment of the college in
the year 1995. Name of the college library is “BIDROHI KABI KAZI NAZRUL ISLAM
JANMA SATABARSHIKI GRANTHAGAR O PATH KAKSHA”. The college libraries
main objectives and goals are to fulfill the objectives of the concerned educational
Institution (ie college).The college library for achieving these target, subscribes various
printing and digital materials. Providing appropriate library resources and helps to
users to improve the teaching-learning process, research and co-curricular activities
and so on. It is presently having collection more than 15835 no. of books on different
subjects that are Science, Arts and Humanities. Library also subscribes NLIST
(National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content)
which provides access e-resources to its member. Our library is located 1st floor of the
annexed building which is situated at the right side of the main gate. Library is well
ventilated, lighted and aired to facilitate comfortable seating. Library follows open access
for Honours students and staff of the college. Library membership is offered on current
students and staff. Our library has separate reading room area for staff and students.
Library fully covered by CCTV for security and an average 40 student visit the library
every day. Library is partially automated, data entry works, and bibliographic record on
KOHA 23.5 version library management software has been installed. For easy access
to the sources there are Departmental Libraries which offer Honours subjects.

Lending Hours (except Saturday): 11.00AM to 4.00AM
Saturday: 11.00 AM to 1:00 PM

The library is closed only on Sundays, holidays, and during the Puja vacation. However,
it remains fully open during winter and summer recesses.

LIBRARY ADVISORY COMMITTEE:
The Library Advisory Committee distributes funds among various departments based
on their demands and needs. Departments recommend purchases of both printed and
digital books, journals, and documents to the advisory committee. The principal, in
collaboration with the librarian, places orders accordingly. The librarian is responsible
for the preservation and maintenance of books, journals, and periodicals.

DETAILS OF THE LIBRARY:
Total area of the library 290 sq.mts. The library has separate reading room facilities for
staff and students. Members seating capacity of the reading room are 20 for students
and 10 for staff. Library has a lending section, reference section, stockroom, librarian
office, Internet, WI/FI, CCTV, Power backup system and so on. There are 16 computer
tables that offer browsing facility. Library collection comprises near about 15835 no. of
printed books and 13 no. of printed journals. E-books and E-journals are also
subscribed through INFLIBNET- NLIST.
RULES AND REGULATION FOR USING LIBRARY:
1) Every visitor should sign to the attendance register of the library before entering
inside the library.
2) Users are not allowed to bring their bags, personal belongings inside the library
stock room.
3) Readers are advised not to leave their valuable items like, passport, credit card,
mobile phone etc inside the library.
4) Readers should not talk or discuss with others readers.
5) Users are advised not to keep their feet on the table, chairs, shelves etc when
using Library.
6) Librarian is not responsible for any loss or damage of the personal belongings if
the visitors entered violating the Library rules and norms.
7) Students’ library card is valid only for current academic year to access library
facilities.
8) Without library card books would not be issued.
9) Student identity card would not be treated as library card.
10) At a time one book can be borrowed on providing library card.
11) Books may be lent to the borrower for a period of 30 days maximum.
12) Books may be reissued to the students if criteria is fulfilled.
13) No book will be reissued except physical presence of borrower.
14) Library card to be handed over to the students after depositing or submitting
the book.

15) If a borrower lost or mutilated the Book then he/she has to deposit cash the
same amount which was printed on the Book lent.
16) In case of loss of library card the borrower must report immediately to the
librarian for issuing fresh card.
17) The new card will be issued by the librarian after depositing Rs 10/- only.
18) The readers should keep silence within the library premises.
19) Talking with mobile phone, spiting is strictly prohibited inside Reading Room.
20) Stealing, cutting, writing on Books are punishable offence
21) User may get photocopy of books and periodical or documents from the library.
22) Users can access to the WIFI facilities apart from browsing Internet facilities.
